The Crown & Sceptre
The Crown & Sceptre in St. Marychurch is Torquay's premier jazz and folk music venue. Every Tuesday night the Crown and Sceptre has live jazz playing and most weekends the Crown runs live music events. If you love classic traditional Inns then the Crown & Sceptre is for you, and conveniently is just up the road from lilycot holiday home.

Babbacombe Regatta has been running for 188 years. Babbacombe regatta is normally held on the weekend around the middle of June. Local and visiting sailors race off Oddicombe beach, and around Babbacombe Bay. Babbacombe downs is a good viewing point to watch the racing, or if you want to get involved, go down to Oddicombe beach. Babbacombe regatta is run by Babbacombe Corinthian Sailing Club which is about a two minute walk down the precinct from Lilycot holiday cottage. The club is open to non sailors and visitors during regatta weekend they also have a beer festival offering local real ales.

Babbacombe Corinthian Sailing Club Fore Street, St Marychurch, Torquay, Devon TQ1 4LY
Babbacombe festival is a very popular local attraction. Babbacombe festival is a week long festival and is normally held around the middle of June. The festival is held on Babbacombe downs and includes Babbacombe regatta, flower festivals, art exhibitions, live music, local produce exhibitor, guided walks, armed forces day and their plenty more live entertainment in the Babbacombe Festival Marquee.

The Babbacombe Theatre is located at the far end of Babbacombe Downs. Visiting a show or cabaret at Babbacombe Theatre is an ideal beginning or end to an evening out on Babbacombe Downs. Babbacombe Downs sits right on the edge of Babbacombe's high cliffs coast line, with spectacular views by day or night. Babbacombe Theatre is a popular local theatre, specialises in variety shows.

Torbay Royal Regatta
Torbay Royal Regatta is Torbay's premier sailing regatta. In addition to sailing, the Torbay Royal Regatta incorporates rowing championships, Torbay Regatta 10K run and fireworks display.
Torbay is a ideal venue for events. With its fantastic history, sheltered bays and picturesque viewing platforms makes it a great destination for sailors, sport lovers and spectators alike.

The Little Theatre
The Little Theatre in Torquay is run by the TOADS Theatre Company. The award winning Little Theatre is tucked away in the leafy Meadfoot district of Torquay. A converted church, the Little Theatre is an ideal venue for a theatre its very atmospheric and well proportioned and it has a lovely little bar where you can enjoy a drink in the interval. The Little Theatre also runs a Wednesday club, where you can have a coffee and some light nibbles and catch up what's on at the theatre, the current plays and performing actors.

One World Cafe
One World Cafe is a lovely little bistro, gallery and live events venue. One World cafe is located on the edge of Abbey Meadows and Gardens opposite Torre Abbey Sands Beach, which is Torquay's most popular beach. One World Cafe puts on live music events almost every week and show cases Torbay's local artist and performers.

The Princess Theatre
The Princess Theatre is Torbay's largest theatre and draws big's shows and big named entertainers. Princess Theatre also enjoys a prime location right on Torquay's sea front and from the theatres Breezes café-bar, their are great views over Princess pier and Torquay harbour and sea front.

The Blue Walnut
The Blue Walnut is located in the heart of Chelston which is a lovely leafy district in Torquay. The Blue Walnut is a quirky cafe bar, gallery, with a unique tiny cinema. The Blue Walnut has a vibrant film club which is held on the 1st Monday of every month, and also shows live poetry, music and comedy events.

Kents Cavern hosts some interesting events all year round. Events include Shakespeare performances, ghost stories and cutting edge exhibitions and yes, their all under ground. Other events include, stone age woodland trail and GeoTrail coastal walks.

Vue Cinema in Paignton is Torbay's largest and most modern cinemas. The Vue Cinema in Paignton, has all the latest technology including 3D and Sony 4K digital screens. Vue Cinema is located on the Esplanade right on Paignton seafront and is coupled together with a theme pub and a locally run bar, restaurant called The Shoreline Beach Bar and Restaurant. We haven't eaten their but we have heard good reviews.

The Spinning Wheel Inn
The Spinning Wheel is famous in Torbay for live music events and has been playing live music ever since I can remember. In my youth we would go to 'The Spinny' as its also known, to watch our favourite local bands. The Spinning Wheel is renowned for live rock band performances along with jazz, blues and funk. To this day The Spinning Wheel is still a very popular, classic pub and live music venue.

Occombe Farm Beer Festival
The Occombe Farm Beer Festival has become a very successful live music event to Torbay and you have to book your tickets early. With lots of live music, local food and local real ale, what can be better. Occombe Farm runs lots of events and also produces its own food and has a great farm shop, if you self catering whilst on holiday at Lilycot. Occombe Farm is run and managed by The Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust.

The Palace Avenue Theatre Paignton is right in the heart of Paignton. Located just around the corner from the bus station and train station. The Palace Avenue Theatre is a classic, traditional style theatre. The theatre attracts big acts including musicals, dramas, thrillers, variety shows and comedians.

BMAD Paignton Bike Festival
BMAD Paignton Bike Festival in a very popular annual event. BMAD Paignton is normally held on the 1st weekend of May on Paignton green. The festival attract bikers and enthusiasts from all over the UK. Live music, entertainment, stalls and shows are put on throughout the weekend. Riviera Fringe Festival
The Riviera Fringe Festival is new to Torbay this year, 2014. A full week of entertainment is promised throughout Torbay. Live music and dance, art festivals, comedians, family shows, magic shows, street theatre, acrobats and jugglers. The Riviera Fringe Festival is incorporating the majority of major entertainment venues around Torbay to put this new Festival of music, dance and theatre on the map. This new major event has been organised to hopefully make Torbay an annual destination for festival goers. Torbay is ever evolving into a diverse and multifunctional holiday resort and is becoming recognised as a serious contender into one of the popular holiday destinations in the UK.

Paignton Regatta has been running for 163 years and 2014 is its 164 year. Paignton Regatta depicts a typical English seaside towns summer regatta with traditional family entertainment. Family entertainment includes, live music, buggy racing, rowing and cycling and many other events. Paignton Regatta utilises Paignton Green, Paignton beach and promenade and with the bay of Torbay as a backdrop the Paignton Regatta fireworks are a spectacle to see.

Brixham Pirate Festival
Brixham Pirate Festival is a relatively new phenomenon to Brixham but through the ages, Brixham has many connections with piracy. Brixham Pirate festival really started when their was a race worldwide to gather as many pirates together in one day in one place. Brixham held the record in 2009 and today the town of Hastings hold the record at 14,231 pirates. The festival is normally held over the 1st bank holiday weekend in May. All good fun, Brixham Pirate festival is worth visiting. Brixham is one of the largest fishing ports in the UK, so fish and chips and a pint is beckoning. Brixham is steeped with history and an interesting place to visit, we regularly catch the ferry from Torquay and spend the day their.

Brixham Pirates Festival Brixham, Devon, TQ5 8AW
Brixfest festival is unique to Brixham. Brixfest is run by volunteers to celibates Brixham's past and present and . The strong community of Brixham exhibits its famous Heritage Sailing Trawler Rally, The King George V Cup Centenary Regatta, vintage planes, live music, street party, stalls and fireworks. Brixfest is a great experience for everyone, as the atmosphere in Brixham is quite special. If your planning to eat an inexpensive lunch or need to get away from the hubbub, we would suggest visit Brixham Yacht Club, which is open to non members and elso enjoys fantastic views over Brixham harbours.

The Strand Art Gallery
The Strand Art Gallery is a the South West's largest collection of original paintings and a popular local attraction. The Strand Art Gallery specialises in marine and landscape art, with emphasis on local Devon views. The gallery also exhibits paintings from famous local 'Brixham Artists' which you may have seen on television. The gallery is worth a visit whilst visiting Brixham.

The Hole In The Wall
The Hole in the Wall is a very old traditional pub and located right in the centre of Torquay just off the strand. If you want to get away from the hussle and bustle of the harbourside the Hole in the Wall is a perfect retreat. The pub also has a restaurant and puts on live entertainment three time a week.
